Each approved vehicle (not including non-approved vehicles, PX to clear or any vehicle over 10 years old unless otherwise stated) undergoes a written workshop inspection with copies available to keep.

Should you wish to have the vehicle inspected by someone of your choice before purchase then you are welcome at your expense to do so.

Any deposits paid are non-returnable unless agreed in writing prior to being paid.

Pendle Car Centre Ltd provide a Hpi Certificate against write off / outstanding finance & theft. It may be at the time of checking that outstanding finance is recorded. In these circumstances, Pendle Car Centre Ltd will provide written proof from the finance provider that they have no further interest in the vehicle. This will be in written form from the actual finance provider. This will then be given to you to keep.

Cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations

Ordinarily, we do not run an organised distance selling scheme.

However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, we need to support our valued customers by delivering your vehicle to your home.

If you have ordered and taken delivery of your vehicle without visiting our showroom and you are not buying the car in the course of your trade or business, the following cancellation clause applies:

  • You have 14 days to get to know your new vehicle and to make sure it suits you. If you change your mind just let us know in writing by post or in email and to reach us by 6pm on the 14th day following delivery and we will come and collect the vehicle for a refund.
  • We cannot accept a return of the car if it has been damaged, modified or altered from the condition it was delivered in.
  • An excess mileage charge of £1 per mile for any mileage over 150 miles in those 14 days will apply. If you do change your mind you cannot use the car once you have notified us - but you must still tax and insure the vehicle until it is collected.

Any return for any warranty work will be at your expense. For further clarity please see the explanation below on how to return.

Regarding warranty, vehicles that are under a certain age & mileage will be offered for sale with the balance of the manufactures warranty. Vehicles outside of the manufactures warranty will be offered with a minimum of 3 Months Warranty, This can be extended up to a lifetime warranty at an extra cost. A booklet will be provided upon purchase for your record which details the terms & conditions. The above is in addition to your statutory consumer rights & does not interfere with those rights. Please note we do not supply a courtesy car if your vehicle is brought to us for any warranty work.


In the unlikely event of you needing to return the vehicle for any reason then any return will be at your expense. The vehicle will have to be returned to Pendle Car Centre Ltd 5, Rakeshouse Road, Nelson, Lancashire BB9 8RJ . Please note that we will inspect the vehicle before accepting the return and any damaged, broken or missing parts including keys and documentation that is recorded or excessive mileage will result in an adjustment to a lower amount credited due to undue wear and tear and misuse. Any refund will also be less than the original invoice sale price if you have had fair usage in the time leading up to the return. You will be expected in all circumstances to bear reasonable cost in cleaning the vehicle back into the condition that you received it in. In some cases it could delay the refund by up to 10 working days.

Acceptable methods of payments are as follows; in person by Debit  Card using chip & pin. Personal debit card payment are FREE but Credit Card & Business Debit Card payments are limited to a maximum of £200. The maximum amount payable over the phone by any card is up to £200.00.

Also available is payment by BACS or Faster Payment (Same Day Payment) this method could result in a delay as we will need to see the amount in our bank before releasing the keys & vehicle.

If you are using a Finance Company to fund then we will make it clear beforehand if we need cleared funds before releasing the vehicle.

5 DAYS DRIVEAWAY INSURANCE is available for up to 2 people. It is an online application process with terms & conditions. Not everyone is eligible. There is a small charge payable if you choose to use the service.

Given the nature of the used vehicle retail market it is not possible to know all of the previous keepers or how many drivers there may have been with any vehicle.  Pendle Car Centre Ltd act with integrity when making enquiries about a vehicles past however you need to be aware the vehicle may have been driven by more than the number of owners/keepers stated on the V5. Including business users and hire companies. This will not detract from making a warranty claim as long as the manufactures terms and conditions have been met.

Finally given the nature of specification options available on vehicles please do not assume that the vehicle you are considering has all the actual features you believe it to have. Whilst we will endeavour to ensure accurate descriptions it is your responsibility to be satisfied of the actual specification. If in doubt please ask or take time to check with the vehicle maker before purchasing.
